About us

The communication services company, Iranian Net, which is the first and the only company in Iran with the license of broadband access network based on optical fiber, was established in 2011 with the purpose of creating optical fiber access network in all over the country and providing value-added services.

This enterprise works as the forth national telecommunication operator based on the license issued by the CRA (Communication Regulatory Authority) of IRI.

Data transmission method in forth operator (Iranian Net) is based on the optical fiber so that a large amount of information would transfer in a more secure and more efficient way in comparison with traditional methods.

By making use of broadband network, the forth operator is able to provide a various modern services, as well as a constant and secure communication with the minimum speed of 20 Mbps brought to subscribers. In this way, users can access multimedia with the extremely high quality.

 

 

History of the Company

Iranian net consortium, known as forth operator, has started its activities in 2011, with the aim of creating and managing the national optical fiber network and providing its value-added services as well.

The company has been registered on June 25, 2011, with the national ID of 10320582435 and based on the license of the CRA (Communication Regulatory Authority.(

 

 

Objectives and Requirements

 

Objectives:

  • Creation and development of optical fiber network in the whole country
  • Providing the value-added services
  • Provision of the broadband services for the near 7 million subscribers in IRI

 

Necessities for the broadband networks’ implementation in the country

  • Achieving the intended targets of the country’s 5th plan of the development in ICT
  • Realizing the Electronic government slogan
  • Expanding the IT-based functions such as banking, education, public health, general medicine, entertainment, transportation, business and industry, environmental protection, etc

  • Improvement of the ICT infrastructure in the country
  • Development of Iran’s international status in the field of communication
  • Creation and provision of the new communicational services with a vast audience
  • To form a systematic and integrated management
  • Reducing pollution, traffic jams and Immigrations
  • Increasing the level of education and health in the country by providing virtual training
  • Creating a healthy competition between the operators and the private sectors service providers to decrease the prices and to increase the services
  • Increasing the employment opportunities directly or indirectly (Creation of near 500000 new job opportunities in the country(

 

 

 

A brief introduction of optical fiber network in the country

 

Fiber-optic project, as a national grid, support internet infrastructure, national information network, e-government and other services offered via intranet.

 

This plan will be executed by Iranian Net Company, as the forth operator, and by selling the consortium’s shares to the shareholders as well as respecting the country’s sovereignty.

 

This network, is supposed to support 8 to 10 million subscribers, including home or business users, in three phases and with the minimum speed of 20mbps during 10 years.

 

The number of provinces covered by this plan is 31 and of course the priority is the most populated ones.

 

Services provided by this network are based on international standards, internal policies and users’ demands.

 

 

Why Broadband?

  • Creation and provision of the new and popular communicational services such as: appropriate internet speed, video phones, cable TV with a high quality, watching popular films, online games, access to the virtual training, video conferencing, houses and roads traffic online monitoring, etc. (Obviously, realization of all these cases is due to a high capacity telecommunication structure.)
  • Creating a healthy competition between the operators and the private sectors service providers to decrease the costs and to increase the services and the quality.
  • Developing the country’s international status in the field of communication
  • Accelerate the implementation of the e-government’s issues, e-commerce, e-banking, telecommuting, virtual education, etc. (national network of information)

 

 

 

CEO: Establishment of Optical Fiber Network in seven major cities of the country in just two years

Bagheri Chenrai, the chief executer officer said: “According to the law, the forth operator must provide an internet with a bandwidth of 20 mbps for the 60 percent of families and 100 percent of business environments, and conforming to the legislator, within the next 8 years, 8 million ports should be provided with a bandwidth of minimum 20 mbps.”

 

He introduced a business plan of providing services on the broadband network in the country’s 31 provinces center and added: “in this plan which is prepared by a foreign consultant, we have created the necessary attractions in the context of resistant economy to fascinate the investors.”

 

The CEO also pointed out: “we’re now providing the fiber-optic networks and we will prepare the basic infrastructures to give the services to the public network until the end of year.”

 

Bagheri Chenari presented the duration of the exclusivity of the forth operator as 7 years and said: “this operator is supposed to provide the broadband services during 25 years in the country.”
